Passionate Developer and Soon-to-be Information Systems Graduate at ETSU
I am a student in the BlueSky Program at ETSU who is graduating in December 2025, and I am excited to start my career. When I started the BlueSky program, I knew very little about programming, but after my Intro to Programming 1 class I was hooked. I am a naturally creative person, and I love taking an idea and turning it into reality. What draws me to programming is the way it requires you to think. Programming demands an analytical, methodical, and computational thought process, which comes naturally to me. I have been programming for about 2 years now, exploring different areas to find what I like best. Some of my favorite work has involved making websites, game development, graphics programming, and socket programming. Through my coursework and personal learning, I have worked with a lot of tools and languages. My strongest languages include C#, Python, and JavaScript. I have experience with multiple databases, my strongest being SQLite. During my time at BCBST, I have gained hands-on experience with concepts like Scrum and Agile, and tools like Azure DevOps. My education has given me familiarity with many areas such as Data Analytics, Database Management, SAP, Risk Management, Server-Side Programming, Software Engineering, Scrum and Agile, and a concentration in Health Care Systems. As I move into my career as a developer, I am excited to be able to apply my creativity, technical skills, and computational mindset to real-world challenges. I hope I can use this opportunity to meet like-minded people and grow alongside them.
November 2024
I set out to create a simple HTTP server using only web sockets in C. It was a fun experience and working on that project taught me a lot about low level networking. I want to try my hand at lower level programming again at some point. I think next up would be a disassembler.
September 2025 - Present
I have been working on creating a portfolio website. I created it with HTML and TailwindCSS. The visual effect in the background was achieved with a combination of shaders and Three.js. I am proud of what I have so far, and I plan on expanding the website with a blog section. Hint - Try left clicking, right clicking, and both at the same time.
Software Engineering 1 & 2
During my Software Engineering 1 and 2 classes, I was tasked to create an RPG game with 4 other team members. We worked in Godot and created a healthy amount of content during the two semesters. I also worked as a scrum master during this project. I saw a lot of personal and professional growth due to this project. It has made me be more self reflective when working with others. Github Link
May 2024
A friend and I created a Virtual Tabletop for playing games like D&D. I learned a lot working on this project, It was my first exposure to JavaScipt, TailwindCSS, React, and Git. This was also my first time working with another person to create something. I was responsible for creating the actual tabletop the users would move on. While my teammate created the forms for setting up boards. Overall, A very fun project that I learned a lot about collaboration during. Github Link

I can't say for sure where I'm going to end up. Just in the past few years of my life I have changed more than I thought I was capable. And so has tech, ChatGPT released in November of 2018, and since then the world has seen a lot of change. So, I can't say exactly where I'll be in the future, but I have some ideas. I want to keep learning about graphics and shader programming. There are a lot of really cool projects I could work on in that field. In that same vain, I want to learn more math. More specifically, I want to learn about linear algebra. I feel like linear algebra concepts always show up when I'm learning something new, and it can be a limiting factor. I also want to learn more about web development, and making websites. I want to at some point have a section on my website to show off any of the cool things I make. About a year ago, I was working on a project that involved working with web sockets in C, and I was struggling to find resources. Thankfully, I found this guide: Beej's Guide to Network Programming Ever since I read this guide and looked at this guy's other work, I have wanted to create educational content about programming online. I plan to have a section on my website where I post essays/blog posts about the things I'm learning. I know that realistically I may not exactly be treading new ground, but I think writing about the things I'm working on or the things I'm learning would be useful for my development. And, one day I hope that someone who understands things in the same way I do could be helped by something I wrote. Wherever I end up, I want to be working on something I care about, with people who are also passionate, and whatever I'm doing I want to be good at it.
